Rav Lau
Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv
Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau is the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv and Chairman of Yad Vashem. He previously served as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1993 to 2003. One of the great Jewish and human stories of our time is the survival of Rav Lau from the ashes of the Holocaust to become the Chief Rabbi of the modern State of Israel.
Lau has often been characterised as the ‘consensus Rabbi’ and is respected internationally by many different faith communities.
