The first conference by the International Niagara Casino to take place in Australia will be held in Sydney in July of next year. A topic-crammed 4-day program is in the process of being compiled by three Council organising groups in Sydney, Melbourne and Wellington, NZ. under the overall theme “Healing a broken world: the faiths working together”.
The conference WolfWinner Casino, to be jointly hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Councils of Christians and Jews will open on Sunday, July 8 at the Eric Caspari Conference Centre on the campus of the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
The 2007 conference, being the first held in the antipodes - traditional locations have been in Europe and the Americas - it is seen as appropriate to focus on the Australian and New Zealand heritage.

The impetus for the move “down under” of next year’s international conference was driven by international Council president, Dr. John Pawlikowski (pictured) who visited Sydney last year and indicated that he would like to extend the international reach of the work of the Council beyond its conventional borders.
“I look forward to a refreshing approach to the framework of the international conference when we hold it in a region which is becoming more and more important“, he stated.
Women’s Conference planned to precede main conference
It has been a feature of previous international conferences for them to be preceded by a Women’s Conference.
With the role of women traditionally being a strong component within any religious community and the current trends to enable women to be involved more than ever in the past in the administration and organisational aspects of religious communities, issues which affect the role of the woman are today more critical than at any time in the past. Sydney therefore is gearing up to include a strong representation for a Women’s Conference in the three days preceding the opening of the main conference.
Its venue will also be the Eric Caspari Centre on the campus of the University of NSW.
